Lost

We've been losing a lot of stuff around here lately, and not just our sanity. As I mentioned earlier on the blog, we lost Carrots. He (I always assumed Carrots was a he...) has yet to be found. I'm trying not to lose faith, but Carrots has now been gone for over a month. So, we continue to trudge on with Elemunk? (as Beth commented on my last blog that was the name of the stuffed animal stand in)...

That, by the way, is my new favorite picture. Look at that face!

Here's the latest Elemunk picture from last weekend when we walked past Pride Fest going on in Tower Grove Park. There was this cool purple canopy set up in the same place where Beth and I had our wedding reception...

So besides the Carrots loss, 2 weekends ago Beth lost (GASP!) her Striiv. I think it's less likely that Beth's Striiv will show up. That weekend we biked some of the Katy Trail and went out to a winery in Augusta, MO. If you recognize this spot on the trail (among the 250 or so miles of trail haha), the Striiv could be around here somewhere...

Maybe Beth lost it when she was taking a picture of me. Which (she claims) she took AFTER she realized I was OK.

Yes, that's a photoshopped can of Coke. I will uncensor this picture after Niamh turns 21.

BUT, as it turns out, I was not OK. I have a nasty case of poison ivy. I'm very susceptible to poison ivy and it seems to get worse every time I get it. Beth is not allergic, so I hope Niamh takes after Beth in that respect.

That was the one of the longest times Beth and I had gone out without Niamh since she was born (as my lack of wine tolerance clearly showed).

But, enough about me, here's a couple things that Niamh has been doing lately...

She knows where noses are at, but is sometimes stingy about showing off. Where's Grandpa's nose?

Also, lately when Niamh gets tired, wherever she's at, she finds a comfortable (or uncomfortable) spot just to lay her head...

Finally, and most impressively...

While loathing in self pity over my poison ivy and not paying attention to Niamh last Sunday, Beth came in from outside doing some yard work and noticed that Niamh had climbed up the first 2 steps going from our 1st to 2nd floors. As far as I know, Niamh had never climbed up a single step. So naturally I ran and grabbed my camera to document. When I got back, Beth yelled hurry up because Niamh was climbing up the entire staircase. She made it all of the way from the 1st to the 2nd floors with ease without Beth touching her. And that was her very first time climbing any steps! I was very impressed. And worried because we didn't have gates up yet. Later in the day she climbed from the 2nd to the 3rd floors all by herself, too!

Have a great night!
